What is a Reading Time Calculator?
A reading time calculator estimates how long it will take to read a text based on three simple inputs: the number of pages, the average number of words per page, and your reading speed (words per minute).
How the calculation works
The calculator multiplies Pages × Words per page to estimate total words, then divides by your reading speed: Total minutes = (Pages × Words/page) ÷ Words-per-minute.
Average Reading Speeds (Guideline)
- Slow reader: 100–150 WPM
- Average reader: 200–250 WPM
- Fast reader: 300–400 WPM
- Speed reader: 500+ WPM
